Talisker 2012 8 Year Old Special Releases 2021

Buy Talisker 8 Special Release 2021 online. This 8-year-old Talisker, of a classic and well-structured character. Is of disarming lucidity, reckless nature and great power through its smoke.

Sitting on the shores of Loch Harport, Talisker does not lose its splendour in the face of the storms that batter the Isle of Skye. Surround by rich and grandiose landscapes shaped by natural elements. It is a whisky truly craft by the sea that the distillery delivers.

However. This furious Single Malt gives off cereal. Smoky and iodized aromas. Then unveils pleasant notes of salt and smoke. From very heavily peated barrels, the fire that animates this sea monster is released in the finish: it is all the power of the sea, which then explodes.

Founded by the MacAskill brothers, Kenneth and Hugh, in 1830 Talisker Distillery is base in the captivating and remote Scottish landscapes by the sea on the Isle of Skye and is a single malt Scotch whisky distillery. Talisker 8 Year Old Special Releases 2021 is a 59.7% ABV single malt Scotch whisky that’s rich and complex with characteristics of mountain smoke, warm porridge oats, salt water and subtle hints of seaweed. Best served neat or with several droplets of water. *Limit of 2 bottles per customer.

Strong and energetic in character; elemental in nature just as Highland and Island malts were in ‘the old days’ at this, the age when Talisker is traditionally bottle.

However. A straight and classic Talisker, this is a wonderfully clear sighted, powerfully fire-breathing sea-monster of a malt, with a direct and bold nature.

Nose

The mild nose-feel gives little hint of the furious spirit soon to emerge. The top notes are sweet and maritime, an early cereal hint of porridge oats rapidly giving way to more cleansing and maritime aromas that suggest briny seaweed, crystal salt and iodine, on a base of mountain smoke. A drop of water softens things, increasing the maritime character. Buy Talisker 8 Special Release 2021 online

Palate

A soft, oily texture and a big taste smoothly take control; almost perfumed at first yet salty and lightly sweet throughout, wonderfully peaty and smoky from the specially selected casks, this fiery sea monster has a full-on peppery catch to savour late on. Water rounds it, adding a peppery prickle across the tongue, while the profile is similar overall.

Finish

Long, warming and persistent, finishing smoky, with lingering smoky malt in the aftertaste. Even better with a dash of water.

Buy Cedar Ridge Rye Whiskey Malted online. The Quint family has farmed and distilled spirits for generations. In 2005. Jeff Quint founded Cedar Ridge in the beleif that it was time for Iowa – the number one corn producing state in the U.S. – to share its homegrown Bourbon with the world. It became the first licensed distillery in Iowa since Prohibition. After releasing their debut whiskey in 2010. Cedar Ridge became a recognized player in the American craft spirits movement. Winning multiple awards such as the American Distilling Institute’s “2017 Distiller of the Year” or “Best American Craft Whiskey” at the 2016 New York World Spirits Competition. Cedar Ridge use malted rye in the mash bill. The rye grains are soaked in water to germinate, then given a blast of hot air. Malting the rye generates an enzyme that’s naturally helpful in the mashing process and adds weight and complex flavours of toast and biscuit to the whiskey. 43% Alc./Vol.

Other reviews… Sharp, even a bit of a sour edge, and some stemmy grass. Sweet and chewy grain in the mouth, with a nice touch of oily rye bitterness, some hot oak that quirks the tongue a bit, then a finish that melts into creaminess. 85 points – Buy Cedar Ridge Rye Whiskey Malted online

…Nose: Lots of corn, grain, and new oak. There’s a tingling of ethanol that makes its presence known, but not enough to be to unpleasant. While this is aged for a minimum of four years, it comes off as a whiskey that hasn’t spent a ton of time in the barrel due to the lack of depth displayed in its weak nose.

Palate. Corn, light vanilla, fruit jam, a hint of pear, and oak. The palate is more interesting than the nose, however all of the flavors present are very light and you really have to hunt them out. The ethanol that was clearly present in the nose isn’t present, and this bourbon ends up drinking lower than the 100 proof it clocks in at. Finish: White pepper, light fruits, vanilla, and fresh wood are all present at the start of the finish. These notes then fade away to just the white pepper and fresh wood, which linger for a short period. It’s simple, short, and leaves an unmemorable impression
